TS govt to hike land registration rates

New rates in force from August 1

Hyderabad, June 13: The Telangana government has set the stage to hike the land registration rates in the State. The new rates will come into force from August 1. The government had also formed committees of sub-registrars, under the guidance of Revenue Divisional Officers / Joint Collectors to prepare district-wise proposals for the hike. In fact, the TS government has to revise the land registration rates from April 1, but the proposal was dropped due to some reasons. It should be noted here that the Andhra Pradesh government, before bifurcation, had increased the land registration rates on April 1, 2013. Sub-registrars were directed to send proposals for a hike in the land registration rates at par with market rates. The committees would submit their proposals by the end of June. These will be uploaded in the website from July 20 and objections, if any, against these proposals will be accepted for one week.
