Shah Rukh buys Caribbean premier league team
New Delhi, June 10, 2015:: Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team co-owner Shah Rukh Khan has bought Trinidad and Tobago franchise in the Caribbean Premier League. Shah Rukh Khan along with the KKR team co-owners actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta bought the team. With this, Shah Rukh became the first to buy an overseas cricket team. The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will see the participation of Bollywood and Hollywood stars as Hollywood stars Mark Wahlberg and Gerard Butler also own CPL franchises. It may be noted that KKR team won the IPL tourney two times. T&T reached the semi-finals of the tournament last year. CPL is organized on the lines of IPL and it has been big hit in West Indies. The third edition of the tournament will commence on June 20.
