AP CS, DGP leave for Delhi to seek action against TS for phone tapping

Hyderabad, June 10, 2015: Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao and DGP JV Ramudu left for New Delhi today. They will bring the alleged phone tapping issue to the notice of Cabinet Secretary and Home Secretary and hand over the copies of cabinet resolutions. According to highly placed sources, Intelligence officials informed the AP Cabinet that Telangana police officials had tapped phones of 120 individuals from AP, including those of Chief Minister, Ministers, MPs, MLAs and officials. The TS government has procured sophisticated devices to tap phones without the interference of telecom service providers. As per the present system, officials should approach telecom operators after obtaining permission from the Union Government. Though the devices are not permitted by the Union government, TS officials used them, they said. AP police officials complained that they were facing several problems as Hyderabad police is under the control of Telangana government.
