AP Cabinet adopts resolution for bringing Hyderabad police under Governor

Hyderabad, June 9, 2015: The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has passed a resolution urging the Centre to implement provisions of Section 8 of AP State Reorganization Act -2014 so that city police come under authority of Governor. Another resolution seeking legal recourse on Telangana government for tapping phones of CM and others was also passed. The six-hour long cabinet meeting discussed the injustice meted to residual AP while enforcing provisions of State Reorganization ACT. Addressing media after the Cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that AP DGP and Chief Secretary will meet Union Home secretary tomorrow to press for the implementation of the Section 8. Ramakrishundu alleged that phones of 120 AP elected representatives and officials were tapped and asked the Telangana government to reveal the sources of the audio tapes. Guide lines for setting up food parks, food processing units and Industrial policy also came up for discussion at the meeting.
