OU students attack petrol bunk built on illegally occupied Varsity land

Hyderabad, May 26 ,2015: Osmania University students , raging with anger over Chief Minister KCR's statement that 11 acres of the university land would be utilised for constructing houses for the poor, are continuing their attacks on properties built over illegally occupied university lands. After attacking and destroying furniture in the Swagat hotel owned by TRS MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy at Tarnaka on Monday, the students attacked a petrol bunk at the Tarnaka cross roads on Tuesday alleging the bunk was built by its owner on an illegally grabbed university land. The students asked the TRS Government to withdraw its statement that university lands would be utilised for building houses for the poor. "If KCR doesn't take back its decision, we will intensify our agitation, " the students warned. The students are also demanding the government to take back the illegally occupied lands from land grabbers and return the same to the University immediately. To bring the demand to the notice of the Government, the students have decided to boycott the Telangana formation day celebrations and hold protest demonstrations holding black badges.
