Goods train derails on Rail-cum-Road bridge at Rajahmundry

Rajahmundry , May 24 ,2015: A goods train , on its way from Visakha to Chennai, derailed on rail-cum-road bridge at Rajahmundry on Sunday affecting moment of passenger rail traffic on the busiest Kolkata-Vijayawada-Chennai rail route. Railway officials cited technical reasons for the derailment and said steps are being taken to restore rail traffic on this route. Due to the derailment , several trains were stopped at Rajahmundry and at stations on the other side of the bridge. However, officials have made arrangements to divert traffic through Godavari station resulting in the delay of train traffic.
