Police arrest ATM thief

Hyderabad, May 22: Hyderabad police is said to have arrested a 21-year-old person, identified as Pedapally Shiva Kumar Reddy of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh, for robbing a software engineer at gunpoint at an State Bank ATM in Yousufguda locality of the city. The robbery took place on Wednesday at 7.15 am. Hyderabad City Commissioner of Police M Mahendar Reddy said on the basis of the CCTV footage inside the ATM kiosk, the police were able to nab the accused from his hideout at the Sai Durga Hostel in Ameerpet locality. Apparently, the accused had come to Hyderabad three years ago in search of employment and was working as a daily wager in the Telugu film industry. A Class X dropout, the accused was habituated to luxury life style and therefore he planned to rob people in order to maintain his style of living.
