Pattiseema to complete by August : Chandrababu

Eluru , May 15, 2015: AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday inspected the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme works in WG district and inaugurated the Kovvada Outfall regulator. Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu said that rivers in the state would be linked up to turn AP into a drought-free state. "The shape of the entire state would transform completely with the linking of rivers," Chandrababu exuded confidence. He said all obstacles for completion of the Polavaram project right canal have been removed now ." Some farmers in WG district have approached courts and we have come to an agreement with the farmers who have agreed to take a compensation of Rs.31 lakh per acre for giving their lands, " he revealed,adding there would be no more legal obstacles. Chandrababu said the Tadipudi lift irrigation works would be completed in the next two months and short tenders would be called for modernising Godavari Delta. The Pattiseema project would be completed by August, he added. "We have decided to establish a Marine University at Bheemavaram.It will work on ways to make proper utilisation of the 974 Km long coastal line in the state," he said.
