New Act in the offing for protection of lakes, says Harish Rao

Hyderabad, May 14 ,2015: Telangana Irrigation Minister Harish Rao disclosed here today that Government has decided to bring in new Act to protect lakes and ponds in the state. Speaking to reporters, Harish Rao said Government would take steps to protect and modernise thirty lakes in and around Hyderabad. It may be recalled that Government has launched Mission Kakatiya to protect the lakes and ponds in the state to give a big boost to local irrigation resources and bring more land under cultivation. "The new proposed Act is part of the efforts to strictly implement Mission Kakatiya works in the state, " he said.
