"One Man Looted Thousands": Chiranjeevi on iBOMMA Piracy Case
Hyderabad: The Telugu film industry has expressed significant relief following the arrest of Immadi Ravi, the alleged administrator of the notorious piracy website iBOMMA. Top industry figures, including megastar Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, director S.S. Rajamouli, and producers Suresh Babu and Dil Raju, attended a press conference on Monday to commend the Hyderabad police for their successful operation.
Speaking at the event hosted by Police Commissioner Sajjanar, Chiranjeevi voiced his frustration over the severe impact of piracy. "It is wrong for one person to steal the hard work of thousands," he stated. "We produce films with great effort, but people like Ravi are robbing thousands of families in our industry. Only strict punishment for such offenders will deter others from committing these crimes."
Chiranjeevi also praised the consistent efforts of the police in combating piracy.
Two days ago, Hyderabad police arrested Immadi Ravi and subsequently blocked the iBOMMA website using his login credentials. Authorities have seized over ₹3 crore from his bank accounts and confiscated hundreds of hard drives.
A court has remanded Ravi to judicial custody for 14 days. His arrest is seen as a major victory for the Telugu film industry in its long-standing fight against digital piracy.
