Ramoji Rao Was a Great Warrior Who Fought for His Principles, Says CM Chandrababu Naidu
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday paid a powerful tribute to the late Ramoji Rao, founder of the Ramoji Group, describing him as a "great warrior" who stood for the people and fought for his principles until his last breath.
Speaking as the chief guest at the Ramoji Excellence National Awards-2025 ceremony in Hyderabad, Naidu said the services of the "warrior of letters" were unforgettable. He highlighted that the institutions built by Ramoji Rao would endure forever, serving as an inspiration for many.
"My heartfelt tribute to the warrior of letters, Ramoji Rao. We can never forget his contributions," Chandrababu Naidu stated. He praised Ramoji Rao for filling the void when the political opposition was weak, using his newspaper to highlight governmental shortcomings and act as the voice of the people. "He was not just a media baron, but a guide with immense social responsibility," the Chief Minister added.
Chandrababu Naidu recalled Ramoji Rao's unwavering commitment to his values, stating, "He had the character to renounce anything for the principles he believed in." He explained that Ramoji Rao extended the role of the Eenadu newspaper beyond news, making people active participants in social service.
The Chief Minister also spoke of Ramoji Rao's philanthropy, noting his readiness to help victims of natural disasters with his own funds and his ability to rally public support with a single call due to the immense trust he commanded.
Highlighting Ramoji Rao's deep affection for the Telugu language, Chandrababu Naidu made a commitment in his capacity as Chief Minister. "Inspired by Ramoji Rao, I will do everything possible to protect and develop the Telugu language. It is our collective responsibility to carry forward his ideals," he affirmed.
The awards were presented in seven categories: Journalism, Rural Development, Human Service, Science & Technology, Art & Culture, Women Empowerment, and Youth Icon. According to representatives of the Ramoji Group, the awards were established to further promote the ideals and service-oriented spirit of their late founder.
