Immadi Ravi's Father Lives on Loans While Son Allegedly Earned Crores
The father of Immadi Ravi, the alleged mastermind behind the popular movie piracy website iBomma, has expressed shock and disappointment following his son's arrest by Telangana Police, stating that anyone who challenges the government must face the consequences.
Immadi Chinna Appa Rao, a retired BSNL employee, continues to live a humble life in a small house in Visakhapatnam, a stark contrast to the multi-crore fortune his son is accused of amassing through illegal online streaming. Speaking to the media, Chinna Appa Rao revealed he was unaware of his son's activities and only learned of the arrest from villagers and news reports.
"I thought he was doing some 'network' business to make a living," Chinna Appa Rao said, adding that he had no idea his son was involved in piracy. He explained that Ravi, who completed his degree and also studied at Andhra University, had been distant for years due to family disputes and had not visited home in the last two years.
Appa Rao shared that Ravi is married and has a daughter but is now separated from his wife. He expressed disbelief upon hearing that his son had allegedly earned crores, recounting how he himself built his house on loans and currently struggles to cover his monthly medical expenses.
Condemning his son’s alleged actions, especially the reported challenge to law enforcement, the father was unequivocal. "What he did was wrong. How can you challenge the government and expect them to stay quiet? No matter how rich you are, you have to bow before the law," he stated. "The police are doing their duty. He was caught, and now they will do what is necessary according to their rules and regulations."
While Immadi Ravi faces legal proceedings, his father remains in his modest home, resigned to the fact that his son must now answer for his alleged crimes.
