RTC strike called off, AP agrees to give 43% fitment
Hyderabad, May 13: Andhra pradesh Ministers Siddha Raghav Rao and Atchennaidu today announced that the APSRTC strike has been called of by RTC employees belonging to AP.
Atchennaidu announced that after prolonged discussions with the RTC union leaders, the AP government had finally agreed to their demand for 43 per cent fitment on the basic pay.
The ministers also said that further talks are being held over the Rs 1,100 crores arrears, which the government not prepared to give at the moment. However, they indicated that the Rs 1,100cr arrears could be given to the employees at the time of their retirement.
They said that the decision to give 43% fitment was taken by keeping the future of RTC in view. They then said, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had also agreed to this.
They urged the RTC employees not to go on a strike in future, as the corporation lost at least Rs 100 crores due to the strike.
