RTC runs partial services in AP, TS with police escort

Hyderabad, May 7 , 2015: RTC MD Sambasiva Rao on Thursday asked the striking drivers and conductors to join duties on or before Friday to ensure smooth conduct of EAMCET examinations. Sambasiva Rao, who is looking after the RTC operations in both Telugu states as the organisation is not yet bifurcated, has revealed that they had successfully run 15 per cent of the services in Telangana and 38 per cent in AP with police cooperation till this afternoon. Asking the drivers and bus conductors to cooperate with Government in running the bus services to ensure that EAMCET candidates are not put to trouble, he warned of severe disciplinary action if the striking staff do not report for duty by tomorrow. In the same token, he also asked the EAMCET candidates to arrive at examination centers one day in advance as a precautionary measure. "I appeal to the contract workers to take up duties immediately to avoid inconvenience to the people. We have good schemes for the welfare of the workers and if they join the duty , we can solve the issues amicably, " he said earnestly. If the contract workers do not report for duty immediately, RTC will go ahead with the panel recruitment to fill the vacancies, he warned.
