IPS Reshuffle in Telangana: Sajjanar to Head Hyderabad Police, 23 Officers Shifted
The Telangana government has implemented a major reshuffle in the state police administration, transferring 23 senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The orders were issued late on Friday night, affecting several key positions across the state.
As part of these changes, V. C. Sajjanar has been appointed as the new Hyderabad Police Commissioner. Until now, he was serving as Managing Director of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). His appointment has drawn significant attention in police circles.
Current Hyderabad Police Commissioner C. V. Anand has been transferred as Special Principal Secretary of the Home Department. In his place, V. C. Sajjanar has been posted. To fill the vacancy left at TSRTC, Y. Nagi Reddy, who was serving as Director General of Disaster Response and Fire Services, has been appointed as its new Managing Director.
Among other major transfers, Shikha Goel, Director of the Cyber Security Bureau, has been appointed as Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement and Ex-Officio Principal Secretary in the General Administration Department, in addition to continuing her responsibilities at the Cyber Security Bureau. Charu Sinha, Additional Director General of Police (DGP) for the Crime Investigation Department (CID), has been given full additional charge as Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). Swati Lakra, Additional DGP for Organisation and Home Guards, has been entrusted with additional responsibility as Director General of the Special Protection Force (SPF).
Mahesh Bhagwat, Additional DGP for Law and Order, has been assigned additional responsibilities as Additional DGP for Personnel. Vijay Kumar, who was serving as Director General of ACB, has been transferred as Additional DGP for Intelligence. Dr. Anil Kumar has been appointed as Additional DGP for Greyhounds and Octopus. Devendra Singh Chauhan, who was Principal Secretary for Civil Supplies, has been transferred as Additional DGP for Multi-Zone II.
Vikram Singh Mann, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) in Hyderabad, has been appointed as Director General of Disaster Response and Fire Services. M. Stephen Raveendra, who was Additional DGP for Greyhounds, has been posted as Commissioner of Civil Supplies.
The reshuffle also covered officers at the level of District Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) in Hyderabad city. S. M. Vijay Kumar, DCP of Hyderabad West Zone, has been appointed as Siddipet Police Commissioner. Ch. Srinivas has been posted in his place. Dr. B. Anuradha, who was serving as Siddipet Commissioner, has been transferred as DCP of LB Nagar Zone in Rachakonda.
