Chittor encounter: HC tells AP govt to file counter on APCLC plea

Hyderabad, May 1: The Hyderabad High Court today directed the AP government to file a counter affidavit on a petition that sought a CBI probe into the Seshachalam encounter case, where 20 woodcutters had died in police firing on April 7. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P V Sanjay Kumar is reportd to have directed AP government to file the counter affidavit on the petition moved by Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee (APCLC), whoch urged the court to transfer the investigation to CBI. It is already known that 20 woodcutters were gunned down in Seshachalam hill ranges of Chittoor district of AP on April 7.
