Centre seeks report on IT payments of Tollywood heroes, directors

Hyderabad, April 29, 2015: A vernacular daily on Wednesday reported that the Income Tax department of the Union Finance Ministry has asked the Telangana IT department to give a list of the Tollywood bigwigs who are paying IT in Chennai while staying in Hyderabad. "What are the amounts cine heroes, directors and others getting as remuneration? And how much they are paying as IT? Who are the bigwigs paying IT in Chennai to escape the attention of IT officers in Hyderabad?" the Finance Ministry has asked the Hyderabad IT wing, according to the news story. The Hyderabad IT wing will now have to submit a detailed report to the Centre on the issue. The daily said that the Tollywood personalities are paying IT in Chennai to avoid paying higher amounts in Hyderabad as the IT officers here know about their huge remunerations.
