Strong tremors felt across north India

New Delhi, April 25: People across northern India rushed out of their homes and offices on Saturday after strong tremors were felt around 11.45 a.m., with a possible epicentre in Nepal. The tremors were felt in most cities, including Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata and Jaipur. According to preliminary reports, the earthquake's epicentre was in neighbouring Nepal. As soon as the tremors were felt especially in the high-rise buildings in Delhi, people frantically rushed out. Vinod Taksal, a resident of Patpatganj in east Delhi, said that he and his family were shaken.

According to unconfirmed reports, tremors were also felt in the Andhra Pradesh districts of Srikalulam, East and West Godavari district, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts.
