Kalyan Jewellers withdraws Aishwarya-featured ad from campaign

Hyderabad, April 23, 2015: Leading gold showroom of Hyderabad city Kalyan Jewellers has announced it has initiated the process of withdrawing its creative advertisement featuring Aishwarya Rai. In a Facebook post, the company said :"If we have inadvertently hurt the sentiments of any individual or organisation, we deeply regret the same. We have started the process of withdrawing this creative from our campaign." The advertisement came in from criticism as the ad showed actress Aishwarya Rai in an aristocratic posture with a black boy holding umbrella over her head depicting racism. Leading social activists Santa Sinha and others protested over the ad leading to its ultimate withdrawal from the ad campaign.
