HC angry at TS Govt for failing to collect Rs. 33 Cr fine from Aruna's hubby
Hyderabad, April 15, 2015: The High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad on Wednesday directed the Telangana government to collect the fine of Rs.33 Cr imposed by it earlier on former minister D.K. Aruna's husband Bharata Simha Reddy for his role in the illegal mining case.
"Will you collect the fine or shall we collect it from him?" the HC asked the Government lawyer during the hearing of the case today.
The apex court of the state expressed its ire at the Government for being lethargic in collecting the fine amount from him.
The High Court has also directed Bharat Simha Reddy to pay the fine amount immediately to the Government besides asking him to stop all his quarrying activity in Mahabubnagar district.
"We hereby direct your client to stop forthwith all his quarrying activity in Mahbubnagar district," the HC instructed Bharat Simha Reddy's lawyer.
