KCR firm on ensuring water grid pylon's inauguration by Modi
Hyderabad, April 13, 2015: Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao is very much determined to ensure inauguration of the majestic 60-ft pylon of the Government's prestigious water grid project by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The unveiling of the pylon, built with a cost of Rs.1.5 Cr on a sprawling 3-acre land at Choutuppal in Nalgonda district, has been delayed as Narendra Modi is yet to confirm an appointment for the programme.
In fact, KCR should have inaugurated it a few days ago but he is committed to ensure its inauguration by Modi so that Centre would also be involved in its funding.
KCR wants to seek a special package of Rs.8000 Cr to part-finance the Rs.40,000 Cr mega project.
As the Government has tied up with funding agencies for an amount of Rs.25,000 Cr, it is yet to mobilise another Rs.15, 000 Cr out of which KCR is expecting Rs.8000 Cr from the Centre.
KCR wants to meet Modi as soon as he returns from his foreign trip and make a submission seeking Centre's involvement in the project and invite him to unveil the pylon.
It must be noted , however, that water grid project works have commenced in Warangal and Adilabad districts.
