PSR Anjaneyulu Shifted from Jail to Government Hospital

Senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu, currently a remand prisoner in the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) scam case, was once again taken ill. Due to fluctuations in his blood pressure, authorities at the Vijayawada prison promptly transferred him to a government hospital. Jail officials stated that PSR Anjaneyulu, who is advanced in age, has been frequently experiencing blood pressure-related issues in recent times.

Only a week ago, he had undergone medical examinations at a government hospital. On Saturday, as the same health issue resurfaced, he was again shifted to the hospital. He is currently under medical supervision, and according to sources, he may be kept under observation until Saturday evening before being sent back to the district jail.

PSR Anjaneyulu was initially arrested on allegations of illegally detaining Mumbai-based actress Kadambari Jethwani and registering a case against her. While he was in remand custody for that case, fresh allegations emerged accusing him of irregularities in the evaluation of examination papers in the APPSC. It was alleged that he facilitated the involvement of private individuals in violation of established procedures. In connection with this case, along with PSR Anjaneyulu, the police also arrested Dhatri Madhu and took both into custody for interrogation.

Although the High Court granted bail to PSR Anjaneyulu two days ago in the Kadambari Jethwani case, he remains in remand in the APPSC case.

Meanwhile, former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who is also a remand prisoner in the fake housing pattas case, is reportedly suffering from health issues. Based on a request he submitted, the court granted permission for medical treatment. As per court orders, police transferred Vallabhaneni Vamsi to a private hospital in Vijayawada. He is expected to receive medical care under the supervision of doctors for two to three days before being returned to the district jail.
