Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are equal to me... Chandrababu sworn in as TDP National President

Chandrababu Naidu was unanimously re-elected as the National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), a position he has held for the past 30 years. His election was announced on the second day of the TDP Mahanadu event held in Kadapa. The party’s Election Committee Chairman Varla Ramaiah administered the oath of office to Chandrababu Naidu. Following the swearing-in, the Chief Minister delivered a significant address to party cadres, outlining several developmental goals for the future of the state.

Expressing his gratitude, Chandrababu Naidu thanked party leaders and activists for entrusting him with the responsibility once again. “The true strength and backbone of the Telugu Desam Party are its workers,” he stated. He congratulated all participants for their enthusiastic involvement in the successful Mahanadu held in Kadapa.

Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that six resolutions were passed during the event and that meaningful discussions helped draft plans for the next 40 years. He expressed confidence that the Telugu Desam Party alone has the potential to elevate the Telugu community to a premier status on the global stage. He also remarked that nature had favored the event.

Reiterating TDP's achievements, Chandrababu Naidu said, “It was the TDP that developed Hyderabad and created Cyberabad.” He declared that both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are equally important to him. Chandrababu Naidu asserted that he has been working tirelessly to repay the debt owed to Andhra Pradesh for its 47 years of support. “My mission is to ensure irrigation water reaches every acre in the state and to clear the debts of our farmers,” he reaffirmed.

Highlighting his government's commitment to Amaravati, Chandrababu Naidu noted that several projects had been initiated to establish it as a people’s capital. Concluding his speech, he expressed confidence that, with the blessings of his "high command"—the party workers and the people—each goal would be achieved step by step.

Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that his government prioritizes law and order. He criticized the previous administration, alleging that there was a lack of protection for public property during its five-year term and that drugs and substances like cannabis had proliferated. “Under the YSRCP regime, marijuana cultivation in agency areas turned into a cottage industry. The former head of that government orchestrated the murder of his own uncle and tried to pin the blame on me,” he alleged. He reminded attendees that TDP was responsible for eradicating Naxalism, factionalism, and rowdyism.

“No one should take the law into their own hands when it comes to law and order. Regardless of their status, wrongdoers will be punished severely. I will act like a relentless enforcer of justice,” he warned.

Chandrababu Naidu pledged that Rayalaseema would not be allowed to become a drought-ridden or barren region. He credited N. T. Rama Rao with initiating major irrigation projects like Telugu Ganga, Handri-Neeva, and Galeru-Nagari, and stated that he had further advanced these projects during his tenure. He claimed that TDP’s efforts were behind Anantapur’s current economic progress through horticulture. This year, ₹3,800 crore has been allocated for Rayalaseema’s water infrastructure development. He identified Handri-Neeva as the highest-funded project after Polavaram and assured that the Veligonda project would also be completed with priority.
