Nani's Hit 3 and More: Big South Releases Arrive on OTT
Several popular theatrical releases are set to make their digital debut this week, making it a notable period for OTT audiences. Uniquely, all the films arriving on OTT platforms this week previously performed well in theatres, with each film representing a different southern language industry.
The Telugu film Hit 3, starring Nani, will begin streaming on Netflix from May 29. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, the film was produced under Nani's own banner and features Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead. The movie originally hit theatres on May 1.
Another Netflix release this week is Retro, scheduled to stream from May 31. This romantic action film was produced under the banner of Tamil actor Suriya and stars Suriya alongside Pooja Hegde. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro was also released in theatres on May 1 and garnered a strong box-office response.
In Malayalam, the film Thudarum, starring Mohanlal and Shobana, is set to begin streaming on Jio Hotstar from May 30. The film achieved record-breaking collections during its theatrical run.
Additionally, the Kannada hit Agnatavasi became available on ZEE5 from May 28. The film was already a commercial success in theatres.
These releases highlight a rare week in which multiple high-profile South Indian films are making their OTT debuts shortly after theatrical success, offering diverse choices for viewers across languages.
