Y. S. Sharmila to Launch 22-Day Congress Revival Tour in Andhra Pradesh
Y. S. Sharmila, the President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, is initiating key steps aimed at restoring the party’s past glory and strengthening its presence at the grassroots level. She is set to embark on an extensive statewide tour across all districts of Andhra Pradesh, with the dual objective of energizing the party cadre and directly engaging with the public to understand their issues.
According to an official announcement by the Andhra Pradesh Congress Party headquarters, the state-level tour will begin on June 9 in Chittoor district. Y. S. Sharmila will subsequently visit every district in the state, with the tour concluding on June 30 in Machilipatnam, Krishna district. A concluding public meeting will be held there, which is expected to be attended by senior party leaders. This 22-day journey will include exclusive meetings with party leaders and workers in each district. In addition to these organizational sessions, Y. S. Sharmila will interact with citizens to listen to their concerns and explain the relevance of the Congress Party.
Party sources have stated that the tour is anchored by several strategic objectives. These include revitalizing the party’s grassroots cadre, comprehending public issues firsthand, effectively disseminating the party’s programs among the people, and injecting fresh energy into the organization. They also mentioned that this tour is a continuation of Y. S. Sharmila’s previous Praja Prasthanam Yatra, and they expressed hope that it will significantly contribute to the party's revival in the state.
Y. S. Sharmila has reportedly devised a comprehensive strategy to ensure the tour extends beyond formal meetings. She aims to strengthen the party at the village level through coordinated efforts with district leaders and by focusing on local issues. Special attention is also being given to attracting youth to the Congress Party in large numbers. Party members believe that this tour will help regain the Congress Party’s former strength in Andhra Pradesh.
