TTD Manages Summer Holiday Rush in Tirumala with Robust Plans

Due to the summer holidays, the number of devotees visiting Tirumala has significantly increased. In response, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has implemented extensive measures to ensure the comfort and convenience of the devotees. Despite the heavy influx, the darshan of Lord Venkateswara is proceeding smoothly, with special efforts being made to avoid any inconvenience to pilgrims.

According to the TTD, a record 3,28,702 devotees had darshan of the deity over just four days, from Thursday to Sunday. While there have been slight delays in the darshan timings, TTD stated that this was managed successfully due to their advance planning and efficient administration. Coordinated efforts across various departments are facilitating faster darshan experiences. Notably, the vigilance and temple departments have been effectively managing the queues, enabling an additional 10,000 devotees per day to have darshan compared to regular days.

To enhance pilgrim comfort, food and beverages are being distributed continuously in the queue complexes and lines through Sri Vari Sevaks. During these four days, the Annaprasadam department served meals to 10,98,170 devotees and distributed tea, coffee, milk, and buttermilk to 4,55,160 devotees. Additionally, 1,52,587 devotees offered their hair as part of religious vows, and 12,172 received medical services from TTD’s health department centers set up at various locations in Tirumala.

TTD is also placing strong emphasis on sanitation. Under the supervision of the Health Department, uninterrupted drinking water supply is being monitored in the queue lines, and cleanliness of the surroundings is being maintained. A total of 2,150 sanitary workers, supervisors, masons, inspectors, and unit officers are working in three shifts around the clock to ensure hygiene.

TTD senior officials are consistently inspecting the queue lines and reviewing the services being offered to devotees. Taking into account the ongoing crowd pressure, the TTD is implementing all necessary measures to prevent any difficulties for the pilgrims, according to a statement by the Chief Public Relations Officer of TTD.
