Andhra Pradesh Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Kandula Durgesh stated that the state government is firmly committed to the development of tourism, cultural heritage, and the film industry. Addressing a press conference held at the Secretariat, Kandula Durgesh disclosed several crucial plans aimed at advancing these sectors.
He emphasized that the government’s objective is to attract more investments to the state while improving employment opportunities for the local population. "Under the direction of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, we will usher in a new era for the tourism sector in Andhra Pradesh. We plan to introduce the state’s natural beauty and historical sites to the global stage by developing specialized tourism circuits,” he said.
Kandula Durgesh explained that focused attention will be given to spiritual tourism, coastal tourism, and forest tourism. He added that efforts are underway to enhance basic infrastructure in tourist areas and to initiate new projects in collaboration with private sector partners.
In regard to the Telugu film industry, the minister assured that the government will provide all necessary assistance to promote film production in the state. "We will simplify the process for obtaining film shooting permissions and strengthen the single-window clearance system. We are also exploring possibilities for the construction of a film city in the state. The Telugu film industry is a matter of pride for Andhra Pradesh, and it is our responsibility to provide it with the encouragement it deserves," Kandula Durgesh said.
He also announced plans to protect and promote the state’s culture and traditions by launching dedicated programs for artists. "Our art, language, and culture are symbols of our identity. We will strive to preserve them and pass them on to future generations. There will be measures in place to offer proper recognition and financial support to artists," he stated.
Looking ahead, Kandula Durgesh expressed confidence that transparent governance and inclusive participation from all sections of society would pave the way for the holistic development of these three sectors. He affirmed that the government would welcome suggestions and feedback from the public, experts, and industry stakeholders to build a comprehensive path for progress.
