Miss World Row: Telangana Launches Probe After Milla Maggie's Shocking Allegations
Allegations made by Miss England, Milla Maggie, regarding the conduct of the Miss World event in Hyderabad have sparked significant controversy. The Government of Telangana has responded immediately, ordering a high-level investigation into the matter. Officials have indicated that the government is treating this issue with utmost seriousness due to its potential impact on the nation’s prestige.

Milla Maggie alleged that during her participation in the Miss World events held in Hyderabad, she was subjected to intense pressure to entertain certain wealthy male sponsors. Her allegations, published in the English media, have led to widespread uproar. “We don’t know whether we came here for a pageant or something else. What kind of competition is this?” Milla Maggie reportedly expressed with strong disapproval. While acknowledging the hospitality extended by Telangana, she also raised concerns about the behaviour of the event organizers. In light of these developments, she abruptly withdrew from the competition and returned to her home country.

The Government of Telangana has taken Milla Maggie’s allegations very seriously. In response, a three-member inquiry committee has been formed, comprising senior IPS officers Shikha Goel, Rema Rajeshwari, and Cyberabad DCP Sai Sree. The committee has already commenced its investigation. They are recording statements from other contestants who participated in the pageant and, if necessary, are also conducting video documentation.

The inquiry is delving deeply into whether there is any truth to Milla Maggie’s claims and whether any inappropriate conduct occurred on the part of the organizers during the pageant. Given the sensitivity of the issue to the nation’s reputation, the Chief Minister’s Office is also monitoring the investigation closely.

As part of the inquiry, the committee has gathered information from Julia Morley, CEO of the Miss World organization, and Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of the Telangana Tourism Department. The committee is also collecting details about the dinner event allegedly attended by Milla Maggie, including the identities of those present and those who were in close proximity to her during the evening. A comprehensive report will be submitted to the government following the full investigation.

However, Julia Morley has strongly denied Milla Maggie’s allegations, calling them baseless and untrue. Jayesh Ranjan also dismissed the claims. The truth behind these allegations is expected to emerge only upon the completion of the inquiry.
