Jayam Ravi's Wife Seeks ₹40 Lakh Monthly Alimony
Prominent Tamil actor Jayam Ravi and his wife Aarti appeared before the Family Welfare Court in Chennai as their divorce case came up for hearing. During the proceedings, Aarti filed a petition seeking ₹40 lakh per month in alimony from her husband Jayam Ravi, who is seeking a divorce.
The court recommended counseling in an effort to reach a compromise between the two. However, according to available information, Jayam Ravi reportedly made it clear that he could not continue his marital relationship with Aarti. His legal representatives requested the court to grant the divorce. Following this, Aarti filed the petition seeking alimony. The court has adjourned the next hearing to June 12.
Jayam Ravi had announced their separation last year. Aarti, however, alleged that Ravi made this announcement publicly without consulting her. Reports in the Kollywood industry suggest that differences between the couple arose due to Jayam Ravi’s friendship with singer Kenisha, which has been cited as a possible reason for the divorce. Speculations intensified after Ravi and Kenisha were recently seen attending an event together.
Meanwhile, Aarti expressed her anguish on social media, stating that her husband had neglected his responsibilities during their 18-year marriage. She said that she was fighting for the well-being of their children. In response, Jayam Ravi claimed that Aarti had been exerting mental and financial control over him.
Reacting to these statements, Aarti alleged on social media that a third person was the reason for their separation and asserted that she had evidence to support this claim. She further stated that she would not make any additional public comments and expressed her trust in the judiciary.
