Fire Breaks Out at Nidhi Bhavan in Amaravati
A fire broke out at Nidhi Bhavan, the Andhra Pradesh government’s Finance Department office, on Wednesday morning in Amaravati, causing panic among employees. According to officials, the blaze erupted on the second floor of the building, prompting around 300 staff members to flee the premises in fear.

Preliminary assessments by authorities suggest that the fire may have been triggered by a short circuit in the central air conditioning system.

Officials suspect that the flames might have destroyed computers in the building. As Nidhi Bhavan serves as the headquarters for the state’s Finance Department, it houses critical data, including salary records of government employees and transaction bills for various departments across Andhra Pradesh. Although the department uses an online system, experts warned that the destruction of computers could result in significant data loss.

Authorities stated that it is currently too early to estimate the extent of the damage caused by the fire.
