Dhoni Gives Crucial Advice to Young Players

In a closely fought encounter of the IPL 2025 season between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, the Rajasthan team secured victory by six wickets. Following the match, former Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni took time to interact with young cricketers, offering them several valuable pieces of advice.

Addressing the young players, Mahendra Singh Dhoni said, “Do not succumb to pressure when expectations on you rise. Learn from senior players and the coaching staff. When young players try to score at a strike rate of over 200, maintaining consistency in batting becomes difficult. However, they have the ability to hit sixes at any stage of the match.” He encouraged the youngsters to showcase their natural style of play without being burdened by expectations.

Dhoni also shared his thoughts on his team’s performance. “We set a good target for the opposition. But after losing wickets quickly at the start of the innings, the pressure shifted to the lower and middle order. Brevis played a fine innings. The run rate was steady while he was batting, but our early wicket losses made it difficult to sustain the momentum,” he explained.

Praising pacer Kambouj’s performance, Mahendra Singh Dhoni stated, “Kambouj bowled very well. His deliveries reached us faster than we anticipated. Bowling three overs during the powerplay is no easy task, but Kambouj did a commendable job.”

In the match, Chennai Super Kings, batting first, scored 187 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Rajasthan Royals chased down the target in just 17.1 overs, losing only four wickets in the process.
