Key Decision by Hyderabad Metro: Metro Rail Fares to be Reduced!

In a move set to bring relief to commuters, the Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities have announced a key decision to revise the recently increased ticket fares. The management has revealed that it will reduce the newly hiked metro rail fares by 10 percent.

This decision comes in response to objections raised by passengers following the fare hike. According to the Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities, this reduction aims to alleviate the financial burden on daily metro users across the city.

The revised fares will come into effect starting from May 24. Thousands of daily commuters who rely on metro services are expected to benefit from this fare adjustment.

Previously, the revised fare structure had come into force on May 17. The minimum fare was raised from ₹10 to ₹12, and the maximum fare was increased from ₹60 to ₹75. This translated into an increase of ₹2 at the minimum and ₹16 at the maximum fare level, as announced by Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the operator of Hyderabad Metro Rail.

However, after taking into consideration the feedback from passengers, the Hyderabad Metro Rail management has now decided to roll back 10 percent of this hike.
