Agnyathavasi: Kannada Suspense Thriller to Stream on ZEE5 from May 28

Crime thrillers are most commonly produced in the Malayalam film industry, but in recent times, Kannada filmmakers have begun to focus more on this genre. One such recently crafted film is Agnyathavasi, based on a story written by Krishnaraj. The film features Rangayana Raghu in a key role and was produced by Hemanth Rao and directed by Janardhan Chikkanna.

Agnyathavasi was released in theatres on April 11 this year. The suspense-filled murder mystery thriller received positive reviews upon its theatrical debut. Following its success, the film is now set for its digital premiere. Beginning May 28, it will stream on ZEE5 in both Kannada and Telugu languages. An official announcement confirming this has already been made.

Alongside Rangayana Raghu, the cast also includes Pavana Gowda, Sharath Lohithaswa, and Ravishankar Gowda in prominent roles.

As for the story—there was once a time when police jeeps frequently roamed the village. A murder that took place during the 1970s haunted the villagers for a long time. For the next twenty-five years, no crimes occurred in that village. However, after a police officer named Govind arrives in the village, the local head is murdered. The story then unfolds around who committed the murder, why it was committed, and how Govind cracks the case.
