Telangana Raj Bhavan Security Breach: Police Probe Techie’s Role in Theft
A theft at one of Telangana’s most secure government establishments, the Raj Bhavan, has caused a significant stir. Authorities reported that four critical computer hard disks were stolen from Sudharma Bhavan, located within the premises of Raj Bhavan under the jurisdiction of Panjagutta.
The incident is believed to have occurred on May 13. However, the disappearance of the hard disks from certain computers inside Sudharma Bhavan was noticed only later. Officials immediately lodged a complaint with the Panjagutta police upon discovering the theft. The occurrence of such an incident in a highly secure location like Raj Bhavan has raised multiple concerns and suspicions.
Responding swiftly to the complaint, Panjagutta police registered a case and launched an investigation. In the preliminary inquiry, police identified the suspect as Srinivas, who was employed at Raj Bhavan as a computer hardware engineer. According to the police, Srinivas was taken into custody and, during interrogation, confessed to the crime. He was subsequently arrested, presented before the court, and remanded to judicial custody.
Authorities stated that further clarity is awaited regarding the type of information stored on the stolen hard disks. The police are conducting a deeper investigation to determine the motive behind the theft.
