Mahesh Babu’s Sister-in-law Tests Positive for COVID-19

A wave of concern has swept through the family of Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu following the confirmation of a COVID-19 infection in his household. Shilpa Shirodkar, a former Bollywood actress and sister of Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata Shirodkar, has tested positive for the coronavirus. Shilpa Shirodkar personally disclosed her diagnosis through her social media account.

Currently residing in Dubai, Shilpa Shirodkar informed her followers that she had contracted the virus and urged everyone to stay safe and wear masks without fail. Her announcement has raised concerns within the Indian film fraternity, particularly due to the timing amid a reported global resurgence of COVID-19 cases.

Across several Asian countries, a renewed spike in coronavirus cases has been reported. In Singapore, the daily case count has exceeded two thousand, while hospitals in Hong Kong are said to be overwhelmed with patients. Some cities in China are reportedly moving toward implementing lockdown measures again. In this context, the infection of Shilpa Shirodkar, who is based in Dubai, has caused unease among members of the film industry.
