KL Rahul Roars with Century as Delhi Posts Mammoth Total
In Match 60 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the Delhi Capitals’ batters put up a commanding performance. Facing the Gujarat Titans, Delhi batted first after losing the toss and posted an imposing total of 199 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Opening batter KL Rahul led from the front, playing a sensational unbeaten knock of 112 runs off 65 deliveries, including 14 boundaries and four sixes.

Earlier, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to field. Delhi’s innings began with an early setback as Faf du Plessis was dismissed in the fourth over by Arshad Khan for 16 runs.

However, KL Rahul took charge and dominated the Gujarat bowlers with aggressive strokeplay, consistently sending the ball to the boundary and over it. He was well supported by Abishek Porel, who scored 30 runs off 19 balls, hitting one four and three sixes. The duo built a crucial partnership for the second wicket. Porel, batting aggressively, was eventually dismissed when he was caught by Jos Buttler off the bowling of Sai Kishore.

Captain Axar Patel followed and contributed a quickfire 25 runs from 16 deliveries, striking two boundaries and one six. He too fell to Sai Kishore’s bowling, caught by the same fielder. In the final overs, Tristan Stubbs added finishing touches with a brisk unbeaten 21 off just 10 balls, including two sixes, pushing Delhi’s total close to the 200-run mark. KL Rahul remained not out till the end, completing a magnificent century.

Among Gujarat’s bowlers, Arshad Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and Ravichandran Sai Kishore each claimed one wicket. Although Mohammad Siraj and Rashid Khan went wicketless, they attempted to bowl economically. Kagiso Rabada, on the other hand, conceded 34 runs in just two overs.

To win this match, Gujarat Titans must chase a target of 200 runs. Although the Arun Jaitley Stadium pitch is favorable for batting, the disciplined bowling from Delhi could make the run-chase a tough challenge for Gujarat.
