BMC Issues Show-Cause Notice to Actor Mithun Chakraborty

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a show-cause notice to prominent film actor Mithun Chakraborty. The notice, sent on May 10, alleges that unauthorized constructions were undertaken at his premises located in Malad, Mumbai.

According to the BMC, Mithun Chakraborty constructed a ground floor and a mezzanine floor without obtaining the necessary permissions. A mezzanine floor typically refers to a partial floor built between two main floors of a building.

In addition to these structural elements, the BMC identified three temporary constructions measuring 10x10 feet each, allegedly erected without permission. These structures include brick walls, wooden panels, glass fixtures, and roofs made with AC sheets.

The BMC has warned Mithun Chakraborty to immediately remove these unauthorized constructions. Failure to comply, the notice states, will result in legal action under Section 475A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act. The section empowers the municipal body to take enforcement action if unauthorized structures are not removed as directed.
