YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra Caught by Her Own Video!

Indian travel YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who runs the popular channel Travel With Jo, has been arrested over serious allegations of leaking Indian military secrets to Pakistan. The 33-year-old was reportedly apprehended in Hisar and placed in five-day police custody. Authorities claim that a self-published video on her own YouTube channel has become key evidence in the case.

In the video posted on March 30 last year, Jyoti Malhotra shared her experience of attending an Iftar dinner hosted by the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi. She stated that she was an invited guest at the event. Entering the premises, she praised the decorations as "amazing." The video also shows her warmly greeting Ehsan-ur-Rahim, also known as Danish, a Pakistan High Commission officer who had previously been expelled from India over espionage allegations. Their interaction suggested a prior acquaintance. During the gathering, Rahim introduced Jyoti to other officials as the creator of the Travel With Jo channel.

Malhotra expressed great enthusiasm about the event and described her experience in a mix of Hindi and English: “I am overwhelmed. I am so excited. It’s unbelievable.” Rahim introduced her to his wife, and Malhotra extended an invitation to the couple to visit her village in Hisar, Haryana, saying, “Come see our village hospitality, it’s wonderful.” Rahim also explained details about Pakistan Day, celebrated on March 23, to Jyoti during the event.

Throughout the video, she openly expressed her desire to visit Pakistan. She asked several attendees whether they had traveled to Pakistan, and upon hearing affirmative responses, replied, “I also want to go.” In conversation with another YouTuber, she added, “Hopefully I’ll get the visa; let’s go together.” She also approached a few Chinese officials at the event, asking, “Please give me a visa!” in reference to visiting China.

Near the end of the dinner, Jyoti once again approached Rahim to thank him for the invitation. She also pointed out another Pakistani officer, saying, “When I came to the embassy three or four times, this person used to register my entry and ask me to set aside my phone and other belongings. He is a very nice person.” She then requested a visa from another newly posted officer as well.

Authorities revealed that her desire to visit Pakistan was eventually fulfilled and that she traveled there at least twice. During one of these visits, she allegedly met with Pakistani security and intelligence officials. Officials claim Jyoti Malhotra admitted to staying in contact with them afterward and to sharing anti-national information with those contacts.

As of now, Jyoti Malhotra remains in police custody and the investigation is ongoing.
