Miss World Contestants Visit Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

Miss World contestants visited the renowned pilgrimage site of Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Bhongir district on Thursday evening. Arriving from the temple guesthouse, the contestants traveled to the hilltop in special battery-operated vehicles. They participated in the ceremonial lamp-lighting event held at the Akhanda Deeparadhana Mandapam.

The event was attended by Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah’s family members, District Additional Collector Veera Reddy, Revenue Divisional Officer Krishna Reddy, and the temple's Assistant Executive Officer (AEO) Bhaskar, among others. During the beauty pageant participants' visit, Octopus, Telangana Special Police Forces, and temple SPF personnel implemented stringent security measures.

Ikkat Heritage Showcased in Pochampally
Meanwhile, the Miss World contestants from 25 African nations visited Pochampally, a village renowned as a tourism destination. The foreign guests were warmly welcomed by the local residents upon their arrival in the village.

On this occasion, the contestants showed keen interest in the globally celebrated Ikkat sarees, observing the intricate weaving process. Some of the contestants even tried their hand at weaving sarees on the loom and expressed their delight. This visit has helped draw international attention to Pochampally's handloom craftsmanship.
