Metro Travel to Cost More in Hyderabad from May 17
Hyderabad residents have been advised to prepare for a hike in metro rail fares starting this week. The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited has officially announced a revision in ticket prices, stating that the new fares will come into effect from May 17.
As per the announcement, the minimum fare, which is currently ₹10, will be increased to ₹12. Similarly, the maximum fare will rise from ₹60 to ₹75. The revised fare structure is based on the number of stations traveled.
According to details shared by Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, the new fare slabs are as follows:
₹12 for travel up to 2 stations
₹18 for 2 to 4 stations
₹30 for 4 to 6 stations
₹40 for 6 to 9 stations
₹50 for 9 to 12 stations
₹55 for 12 to 15 stations
₹60 for 15 to 18 stations
₹66 for 18 to 21 stations
₹70 for 21 to 24 stations

The metro system, which serves thousands of daily commuters across Hyderabad, has not implemented a fare increase in recent years. The revised pricing is expected to reflect operational cost adjustments and system expansion needs.
