Kashish Chaudhary Sets Record as Hindu Woman Appointed Assistant Commissioner in Pakistan
In a significant milestone, a 25-year-old Hindu woman named Kashish Chaudhary has been appointed as an Assistant Commissioner in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, marking a rare and historic achievement. With this appointment, she becomes the first Hindu woman to attain such a senior administrative position in the region, establishing a notable record.

Kashish Chaudhary hails from Noshki, a small town in the Chagai district of Balochistan. Her father, Giridhari Lal, is a middle-class businessman. Motivated by a strong ambition to serve society, Kashish prepared for the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) examinations with unwavering dedication over a period of three years. She reportedly focused on her studies for at least eight hours a day. In an interview, she stated that her success was driven by discipline, hard work, and a powerful desire to contribute meaningfully to society.

The appointment of a Hindu woman to a high-ranking post in a strategically significant area like Balochistan holds considerable importance. It not only symbolizes individual perseverance but also reflects the gradual breaking of cultural and social barriers faced by minority communities in Pakistan’s administrative system.

In recent years, several Hindu women in Pakistan have made their mark in government service by assuming key positions and challenging societal norms. Kashish Chaudhary’s accomplishment stands out as an inspiring example within this broader trend.

In 2022, Manisha Rupeta became the first Hindu woman to be appointed as Superintendent of Police in Karachi. Similarly, Pushpa Kumari Kohli qualified in the Sindh Police Public Service Examination and was appointed as a Sub-Inspector. In 2019, Suman Pawan Bodani took charge as the first Hindu woman civil judge in Shahdadkot.
