Key Remarks by Minister Ponguru Narayana on Amaravati Land Acquisition
Urban Development and Municipal Administration Minister Ponguru Narayana made significant remarks regarding land acquisition in Amaravati, stating that an additional 10,000 acres are required for the development of the capital.
Minister Ponguru Narayana participated as the chief guest in the swearing-in ceremony of the new executive committee of CREDAI Andhra Pradesh, held on Tuesday in Vijayawada. During his address, he outlined the state government's ongoing and future initiatives in Amaravati.
He announced that 4,000 houses for government officials are planned to be completed within a year. “We are making arrangements to ensure that all officials reside in Amaravati with all necessary facilities,” said Minister Ponguru Narayana.
He emphasized the need for a total of 10,000 more acres for Amaravati’s development. He stated that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister had directed the allocation of 2,500 acres for pollution-free industries, another 2,500 acres for a Sports City, and 5,000 acres for an international airport.
He said that public representatives have suggested that land pooling would not cause losses to farmers. He also assured the CREDAI representatives that the state government would extend full cooperation in all possible ways.
Minister Ponguru Narayana highlighted that the real estate sector generates employment opportunities across several allied industries. He also informed that orders had been issued to complete the construction of roads in the capital region within one and a half years. “We have set a target to complete iconic buildings within three years,” he stated.
The event was attended by Minister Kollu Ravindra, Member of Parliament Kesineni Sivanath, and Members of the Legislative Assembly Gadde Ramamohan, Bonda Uma, among others.
