Vennela Kishore Shares Career Insights, Talks Dookudu and Body Challenges

Prominent comedy actor Vennela Kishore is currently occupied with a string of film projects. In a recent interview given during the promotion of one of his upcoming films, he shared an interesting anecdote from his career.
Vennela Kishore stated that although he has acted in numerous films, his dream role remains the one he played in the film Dookudu. He explained that sharing screen space with Mahesh Babu in such a significant role fulfilled a long-cherished dream.
Recounting the casting process for the film, Vennela Kishore mentioned that director Srinu Vaitla had narrated the story to him at a time when he was overweight. Since the role required him to appear as a police officer, he was advised to slim down. He added that there was even a suggestion that he consider surgery to achieve the required physique. “But I did not go for surgery,” said Vennela Kishore. “I chose acting as the priority.”
He admitted that despite exercising, he could not become as lean as expected. Nonetheless, he proceeded with the role in his natural appearance, which he felt ultimately suited the character well. “That performance received great appreciation,” he noted.
From that point onward, Vennela Kishore revealed that he began to focus solely on acting. He acknowledged that sometimes there are expectations to physically transform for a role, but such transformations do not always suit his body type. “Still, the directors are putting up with me,” he added humorously.
