Hyderabad has become the proud host of the prestigious 72nd Miss World 2025 competition, with the event launching in grand fashion at the Gachibowli Stadium. Over 110 contestants from across the globe are participating in this international beauty pageant, all vying for the coveted Miss World crown. Representing India in the competition is Miss India Nandini Gupta, who has garnered significant attention for her presence and performance.

The opening ceremony showcased Telangana's rich cultural heritage and traditions. The event was officially inaugurated with the rendition of the state anthem "Jayajayahe Telangana." A standout performance was the Perini dance by 250 artists, which captivated the attendees with its vibrancy and energy. During the introductory segment, contestants from various countries walked the ramp wearing their traditional attire, offering a vivid display of global diversity. The programming also included features specifically curated to reflect and highlight Telangana’s cultural essence.

Several dignitaries attended the inaugural function. Among them were Telangana State Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, Director General of Police Jitender, Telangana Tourism Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy, Hyderabad Mayor Vijayalakshmi, Miss World CEO Julia Morley, and Miss World 2024 winner Kristina Piskova.
