Former Minister Vidadala Rajini’s Key Aide Srikant Reddy Arrested

Former minister and prominent YSR Congress Party leader Vidadala Rajini has received another setback amid ongoing legal troubles, as her close associate Srikant Reddy was arrested by the police. The incident occurred when the police intercepted Vidadala Rajini’s car and detained Srikant Reddy, who was traveling with her.
A tense verbal altercation ensued between Vidadala Rajini and the police officers during the arrest attempt. The former minister demanded to know the specific charges under which Srikant Reddy was being arrested. In response, a police officer reportedly warned her, saying, “A case will be filed against you as well.” A video capturing this exchange has gone viral on social media.
Further details regarding the reasons for Srikant Reddy’s arrest have yet to be officially released.
This development follows an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) case already registered against Vidadala Rajini. She is accused of extorting money through threats to the management of a stone crusher unit during her tenure as a minister in the YSR Congress government. The ACB registered the case based on these allegations.
In connection with the same case, ACB officials had arrested Vidadala Rajini’s brother-in-law, Gopi, last month.
