Lenovo Brings Out a Laptop That Doesn't Overheat!
Leading technology company Lenovo has unveiled its latest innovation for gaming enthusiasts. At the Tech World 2025 event held in Shanghai on Thursday, the company launched a powerful gaming laptop under the name Lenovo Legion 9i. According to company representatives, the device, featuring cutting-edge specifications and remarkable performance, promises to elevate the gaming experience to a whole new level. They asserted that the laptop does not overheat.
The Lenovo Legion 9i runs on an Intel Core Ultra 9 chipset and comes equipped with DDR5 RAM and PCIe Gen 5 SSD. Consumers can configure the laptop with up to a GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU. Lenovo stated that the processor and GPU together can deliver up to 280W of power, enabling seamless gameplay even for graphics-intensive titles.
The device features an 18-inch PureSight screen that supports 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,400 pixels) at a 240Hz refresh rate in 2D mode. An optional variant supporting 2K 3D (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) is also available. The display offers 540 nits of peak brightness, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and is certified with VESA DisplayHDR 400, TÜV Rheinland, and Dolby Vision. It also supports NVIDIA G-Sync.
To efficiently manage high temperatures, Lenovo has incorporated its Legion Coldfront Vapor thermal system in the laptop, which includes a vapor chamber, hyper chamber, and a quad-fan setup. The company highlighted that dedicated fans for the Wi-Fi card, SSD, and RAM ensure effective heat control even during graphically demanding tasks. Lenovo guarantees that the laptop operates at under 48dB noise levels even in 280W performance mode.
In terms of performance specs, the laptop features the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, up to 64GB dual-channel DDR5 RAM, and PCIe Gen5 SSD storage up to 2TB. Additionally, RAM can be expanded to 192GB and storage up to 8TB. The device can run up to the Windows 11 Pro operating system.
The Lenovo Legion 9i also integrates AI-based features including the Lenovo AI Core chip and Lenovo AI Engine . These adapt settings based on user scenarios to deliver peak performance during gaming or rendering tasks. The Legion Space feature syncs the RGB lighting with in-game sound and visuals using AI. A six-speaker sound system supported by Nahimic Audio enhances the experience. The laptop also includes various AI-powered software features such as Coach, Game Clip Master, and Game Companion.
For connectivity, the laptop includes USB Type-A (USB 3.2 Gen 2, Always-On USB 5V2A), RJ45, two Thunderbolt 5 ports (up to 120Gbps, DisplayPort 2.1, Power Delivery 3.0 at 140W), and an audio combo jack. On the right side, it offers two USB Type-A (USB 3.2 Gen 2), one USB Type-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2), an e-shutter button, and an SD Card Reader 4.0. The device also features a forged carbon lid and an RGB keyboard with 1.6mm travel. A switchable WASD key set is also included. It is powered by a maximum 99.99Wh battery and comes with a 400W power adapter.
Regarding pricing, the Lenovo Legion 9i starts at €4,499 (approximately ₹4,32,000). It will be available in Carbon Black color. The laptop will go on sale in Europe starting June 2025 and in North America in the fourth quarter of this year. Lenovo has not yet disclosed its price in the U.S. The purchase includes a complimentary three-month Xbox Game Pass subscription.
