Cyber Experts Warn of New WhatsApp Malware Threat from Pakistan

Pakistan-based cyber criminals are reportedly launching another wave of cyberattacks targeting internet users in India. According to Indian cyber security experts, a dangerous malware named "Dance of the Hillary" has been released with the intention of stealing sensitive data such as citizens’ personal information and banking details. Authorities have warned that the malware is being spread specifically through WhatsApp messages, and urged the public to exercise caution.

Cyber police officials have stated that Pakistani hackers have long been attempting to influence Indian social media users and extract critical information from them. As part of these ongoing efforts, the hackers have now deployed the Dance of the Hillary malware. Experts explained that this malware can be embedded in mobile phones through suspicious WhatsApp messages and links sent from unknown numbers, thereby stealing users’ data.

Reports also indicate that the malware is not limited to WhatsApp alone but is also being disseminated through platforms like Facebook and email. Cyber security specialists caution that if the Dance of the Hillary malware infiltrates a device, it can cause severe harm. It may be capable of stealing banking passwords, credit and debit card details, and other personal data. Additionally, the malware could gain access to confidential files stored on the device and leak them.

Experts further warned that the malware might slow down or even crash mobile phones and computers. It may also enable hackers to remotely take control of the compromised devices, posing significant risks of misuse.
