Indiramma House Ready in Just 15 Days at ₹5 Lakh!

As part of the prestigious Indiramma housing scheme undertaken by the Telangana government, innovative construction technologies are being introduced to deliver quality homes within the stipulated ₹5 lakh budget. In this context, several agencies are adopting advanced construction methods, with one startup drawing attention by successfully building a model Indiramma house using the Shear Wall technique in just 15 days.

The model house was constructed in Jinnaram, Sangareddy district, following the suggestions of Housing Corporation officials. Mallikarjun, a representative of the startup, informed the media on Thursday that the house was completed within the ₹5 lakh budget, occupying an area of 400 square feet. He explained that the construction was carried out with just six workers and was entirely eco-friendly. According to him, five days were spent on the foundation, six days for constructing the slab and walls, and four days for finishing the remaining work.

Describing the specifications of the Shear Wall house, company representatives stated: "The house was built with a 400-square-foot slab, measuring 22.3 feet in length and 18 feet in width. It was constructed to allow for an additional upper floor (G 1) in the future. Materials used included 8 mm and 10 mm steel, ready-mix self-compacting concrete, and aluminum panels. The external walls are 150 mm thick. This method prevents issues such as cracks and water leakage. No plastering is required, and the house is expected to last around 60 years."

The startup announced its readiness to build such homes for beneficiaries through the State Housing Corporation. Housing Corporation CEO Chaitanya Kumar stated that various agencies interested in constructing Indiramma homes within budget constraints are being given the opportunity to participate. If these new methods prove successful, the dream of owning a home for the economically disadvantaged can be fulfilled more quickly and with better quality.
