Jagan's Plea to Reinstate 'Z Plus' Category Security Postponed in High Court
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP President Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy faced disappointment in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. On Thursday, Jagan Mohan Reddy filed a petition requesting the court to direct the central and state governments to reinstate his 'Z Plus' category security.
The High Court took up the hearing on the petition on Friday. After listening to the arguments from both sides, the court adjourned the matter until after the summer vacation.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has already appealed to the central government to provide security through the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) or the National Security Guard (NSG), citing a threat to his life. He also requested that strong security arrangements be made at his residence and office, including provision of personnel, escorts, and a fully operational bulletproof vehicle.
Stating that the central government did not respond to his concerns, he approached the judiciary. In his plea to the court, Jagan Mohan Reddy requested that directions be issued to both the central and state governments to ensure appropriate security measures are provided.
He emphasized his demand for reinstatement of the 'Z Plus' category security. Expressing his dissatisfaction, Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that after a change in government in the state, his security was drastically reduced without any prior notice or information.
