Vijayashanti Tweets on War With Pakistan, Faces Criticism Online
As tensions escalate along the India-Pakistan border, Congress Member of Legislative Council and actress Vijayashanti has drawn criticism for her recent social media post addressing the situation. In her tweet, Vijayashanti asserted that the Congress party has always taken the lead in curbing terrorism instigated by Pakistan.

“There is no doubt that the Congress government has always been at the forefront in containing Pakistan, which has been provoking terrorists to infiltrate into India,” Vijayashanti tweeted.

She referred to key historical events, stating, “In 1965, when war broke out with Pakistan, it was the Congress government under Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri that advanced our army deep into Pakistan and created fear. Later, in 1971, the Congress government led by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi played a decisive role in separating East Pakistan and forming present-day Bangladesh.”

Vijayashanti added, “Inspired by these leaders, successive Indian governments will inevitably continue to act in the same manner in the future as well.” She further stated, “Although some are raising this issue on social media for political gain, I believe they must understand that the public does not view this matter through a political lens.”

Her comments have triggered backlash on social media, with some users questioning the appropriateness of introducing political narratives in matters of national security and unity. Several individuals expressed anger at Vijayashanti, asking why politics was being brought into such a sensitive issue.
